Led business design for a large multi-operating entity transformation programme for a global commercial insurance company.
Pioneered ‘Organisation Debt’ as a diagnostic tool for identifying cross-domain redundancy in a multi-line insurance business.
Promote simplification of business services using service patterns in a public sector business.
What is your unique selling point? What makes your business approach unique?
I treat operating models as pattern languages, not org charts: reusable, named service patterns that connect strategy to delivery. Twenty years across financial services, insurance and the public sector means I can move from boardroom principle to working service design without losing either end.

Any professional goals for the upcoming year?
Publishing The Decision Architect, my book on organisational design patterns and operating model frameworks, currently in copy-editing with a trade publisher showing active interest. Growing Organised Friction, my thought leadership platform, as a home for practical business architecture writing. And continuing to take on operating model and service pattern work with organisations wrestling with genuine transformation complexity, not just documentation exercises.
And… Last but not least, how does being an expert of Camelot help you/or add value to your business?Being independent means the usual peer network of a corporate role disappears, so Camelot fills that gap. It gives me a community of experts who've made the same leap, which matters when you're used to bouncing ideas off colleagues down the corridor. The Road Tests and SIGs are a genuine way to stay sharp outside my own client work, and the referral network has opened doors I wouldn't have found solo.
